I have a pair of shorts that go to mid-thigh, but I like them shorter than that. In fact, my favorite shorts are women’s running shorts and they are very short. In the 1980s, fashion was different and short shorts were the norm. This has now changed and most men wear knee-length shorts.

In this photo taken in 1988, at Mont Saint-Michel in France, my sons and I are both wearing short, tight shorts. When I was in Florida last winter, I bought a pair of running shorts that had about a 2.5-inch inseam and a high slit on the outer leg. I love them so much that I ordered 2 more pairs. They exposed a lot of my legs and a little of my ass. I wear them everywhere. People say short shorts look gay, but I’m old school and think shorts above the knee look gay. I think some guys have such big waists that they have to take 10-12 inches of inseam just to button it.
